How the women are treated in 50 Cent’s music video ‘Candy Shop’.

In 50 Cent’s video ‘Candy Shop’ women are shown as sexual and seductive to an extravagant amount. The women are shown as this to such an extent that they can be classed as things. There is one point where there is a very big stereotypical marker when one woman is dressed in a leather nurse’s uniform with very big ruby coloured lips. This stereotypes this young woman as a stereotypical man would like to see her like that.

This video has defiantly been shown for a male advantage as women are wrongly stereotyped into sexual objects. The entire way during the video women are shown in skimpy and seductive outfits and uniforms as if they are there only to please 50 Cent. The lyrics help provide evidence of this by saying things like “I’ll let you lick the lollipop” and “climb on top, ride like you in the rodeo”.

However much the amount of demoralising imagery this video combines everything that a rapper wants to be and unfortunately that spreads down to the people who listen to the music.

All of this, in my personal opinion, shows how wrong people can be on the facts of equality and also gives a reason why the birth rate is going up as men/boys are just trying to be like their wrongly placed idols.
