In the article on Morrissey the writer Kevin Cummins talks
about his journey to a concert and then the people he met when he was there. He
does this in no particular style other than as if he was writing into his
diary. There are no long or difficult words to understand, it is just like he
is writing to a dear friend. It is easy to register that he has had a nice time
whilst he was there. He even includes analogies by saying that it was like “the
Pope had come to town.”
He does all of this but yet includes only one quote from
Andy Rourke about a bass guitar. However this one quote does show a small sense
of friendship with another. Mr Rourke calls Mr Cummins by his first name;
Kevin. This shows that he must have had a lot of interaction with the band and
Mr Rourke.
The design features however wouldn’t be out of place in a
Whitaker’s Almanack. All of the photos have a small caption near to them describing
the photo and why it is there. Whereas the lead image is big and brash to draw
the readers in.
